Daily Touches of Grace

What makes a Christian school Christian?

We believe it would include having a Bible-based curriculum and Christ-centered teachers, but being distinctly Christian requires us to be consistently intentional. Here are five ways which our Founder and President, Pastor Bob Cook, has challenged our teachers to further minister grace and hope to the students of CCS.

1. DAILY DEVOTION

Each morning, a faculty member or upperclassman leads the school in pledges and prayer via the intercom. On many mornings, a brief devotion challenge is given as well.

2. MID-MORNING REFLECTION

Teachers are asked to lead students in a time of praise and thanksgiving. Most elementary teachers also lead their students into worship using music and videos.

3. LUNCH GRACE

Our custom is that, before each shift goes to lunch, we pause to pray, giving thanks and asking for God’s continued blessing.

4. PREDEFINED BLOCKS

5. END-OF-THE-DAY BLESSING

Not knowing the environment that many of our students are heading in to, teachers stop before the final bell to speak a blessing over their classroom and everyone in it. See Numbers 6:24-26.
